Kristin Pierce

Kristin Pierce created Shooting Stars NYC, a Manhattan-based company,  providing professional dance, acting, and voice to the city's brightest stars. The main focus of SSDC is competitive dance. This company has produced some of the country’s top competitive dance teams, specializing in hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, street jazz, lyrical and pom precision.  SSDC is proud of it's successful graduates who have gone on to dance as members on prestigious ivy league college dance teams, as well as become professional performers in their field.

Kristin grew up a competitive dancer. She has been on both sides of the stage now.  She holds a Masters of Fine Arts from The Actors Studio. She has studied at the British American Dramatic Academy in Oxford, England with Ben Kingsley and Kevin Spacey.  She also holds Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Arts from which she received  a full scholarship in Musical Theater.  She has appeared in numerous professional stage and  television productions, including National  tours, music videos, commercials, and soap operas.   Kristin is a member of all three acting unions, including AFTRA, The Screen Actor’s Guild, and Actor’s Equity.

Kristin has put her heart and soul into  creating Shooting Stars NYC.  A company designed to be  a safe haven for girls to learn confidence, develop life long friendships, and find their own unique voice through dance.  Kristin's company prides itself on instilling   girl-power, teamwork, and sisterhood in all the amazing girls that are referred to as the "Star Family."

For the eighth year in a row, Shooting Stars NYC was selected out of hundreds of dance and performing arts companies from across the country to perform a six minute high energy dance routine for thousands of spirited fans at Barclays Center pregame the Brooklyn Nets.

The Stars have also performed Halftime for the Harlem Globe Trotters at Madison Square Garden. As well as half time and pregame for the Knicks at MSG, the world's most famous arena. They have done this for multiple years and have been invited every year since.

The dancers at Shooting Stars, LLC are no strangers to the spotlight. The advanced group of company were chosen out of millions for a 4 page spread in the August issue of W Magazine! The girls were also called back for America's Got Talent, and were also scouted fora  private audition the year after.  The teams have worked with dynamic fashion designer Betsy Johnson, performing at several fashion showcases and events.

In addition to their high-profile performances, the teams put their collective star power towards raising awareness for two important causes. The teams were featured in the viral video titled “OUCH” aimed at educating women on the importance of regularly scheduled mammograms. Shifting focus to a disorder that effects a number of the young dancers’ peers, the teams were also included in the HBO documentary “Rethinking Dyslexia: The Big Picture” directed by James Redford.

The company holds over 500 First Place  trophies from prestigious Competitions, including the largest dance competition in the country.
